Tony Mikes is a former ad executive who founded
Second Wind because he recognized the value of shared
information to all of the “lonely,” small-agency
managers in our industry. Tony conducts management
workshops, consults with individual agencies, and
frequently speaks before advertising and trade organizations.
He is the editor-in-chief of The Second Wind
Newsletter, and author of several ad industry
books. He speaks daily with our members, and looks
forward to talking to you!
His goals are to add value for our members through
his knowledge and experience, and an expanding
menu of Second Wind services… and to eke
out some beach time “down the Shore.” |

Laurie is the Chief Operating Officer of Second
Wind, overseeing daily operations while keeping one
finger on the pulse of our industry. She has been
with the company for more than twelve years and is
deeply involved with all facets of the business,
including day-to-day member assistance and relations,
research, business outreach and growth. She renovated
her house and the Second Wind website simultaneously.
Laurie is a graduate of Lake Forest College and The School of The Art Institute
of Chicago.

Deb is an “old-school” advertising
industry veteran who now brings that experience
to writing The Second Wind Newsletter, editing
publications and creating much of Second Wind’s
web content. After thirty years as an art director
and production manager in Pennsylvania design and
ad firms, Deb is happy to share what she has learned
with members, and to learn from them. Deb de-stresses
in her garden or with the latest mystery novel.
Deb holds a B.F.A./Advertising degree from Kutztown
University, not far from Second Wind headquarters. |

Jen is responsible for the daily operation, management
and maintenance of Second Wind's website and is the
key contact regarding the company's web-based programs.
She joined Second Wind in 1999, and focuses her energies
on helping Second Wind to become a leading online,
marketing industry resource. Jen is also our default
IT person. (Jen… I think the server’s
down again…)
Jen is a graduate of Penn State University.

Audrey is Second Wind’s bookkeeper, and is
responsible for maintaining our daily financial records.
She also handles Brand Establishment license fees,
billings and collections. (And she knows where you
live…) Audrey has been with Second Wind thirteen
years and has developed close relationships with
many members.
Audrey is a graduate of Reading Area Community
College. |

As Second Wind’s chief financial officer,
Heather manages Second Wind’s financial business
planning and helps develop strategies for future
business development. Heather joined Second Wind
in 2000, bringing strong organizational skills to
the goal of supporting company growth through sound
financial practices. It’s her job to keep us “grounded.” (No,
Tony, you can’t order new headphones for your
iPod® on the company credit card…)
Heather holds a B.A. from Smith College and a B.S.N.
from the University of Pennsylvania. |

Have typo? Will spot it! Beth’s twenty-five-year
business career includes editing engineering, technical
and marketing publications, and, of course, work
in the advertising industry, which fully equips her
to handle editing and proofreading for Second Wind.
Beth also contributes articles for The Second
Wind Newsletter, and collaborates with Deb to
develop new Second Wind publications.
Beth holds a B.A. in English Lit from Muhlenberg
College, and claims to be working toward her doctorate
in chaos management… |

Stacey, Second Wind’s resident designer
extraordinaire, spent several years working as
a production artist and freelancer before coming
to Second Wind as Art Director. She is heavily
influenced by her love of color, pop art and retro
design. When not in front of a computer, Stacey
enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with
her dogs. She also kick-boxes, so stay on her good
side!
Stacey is a 2000 graduate of Kutztown University
and holds her BFA in Communications Design. |

Heidi heads our research department, working every
day to fulfill member requests for research support.
She is the source for a wide range of research products,
including “Get Smart” article searches
and Second Wind “instant” surveys. When
not tunneling through the Internet, Heidi enjoys
classic and independent films, cult television shows,
and watching her two children run around her loft
apartment.
Heidi earned a B.A. in Art History from Skidmore
College, and an M.L.I.S. in Library and Information Science from the
University of Pittsburgh. |

Jennifer is a Second Wind research associate and works in tandem with Heidi to fulfill members’ research requests and needs on a daily basis. Jen, as she likes to be called, has been with Second Wind since 2006 and is stationed in Boston, not far from the rich historical sites and wonders of the city. Her personal interests include photography, documentary film making and filling her closets with the latest runway styles. And, if she knows her research half a well as she knows her movie quotes, “anyone? anyone?” you’re in good hands.
Jen has B.A. in History from Smith College in Northampton, MA and is pursuing her Master’s in History at Harvard. |

Our membership & marketing coordinator, Stephanie Haag, is also the first voice you’ll hear when you call Second Wind Headquarters. Stephanie processes new memberships, seminar registrations and fulfills publication orders, as well as keeping track of our peripatetic founder’s travel schedule. Stephanie worked as an e-marketing lead tracking specialist at a Reading, PA-based steel manufacturing firm prior to joining Second Wind. She has a BS/Marketing degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. (That would be actor Jimmy Stewart’s hometown, for non-PA natives.)
