Chong and Koster Boost Michigan Candidate with Facebook Ads

In this election year, much is being written about Facebook’s policies around political ads. But the platform can be used effectively to boost political candidates in the closing days of campaigns. Digital communications specialists Chong and Koster LLC, Washington, DC, worked with Michigan Supreme Court candidate Bridget Mary McCormack to overcome negative advertising just a week before the 2019 election. They tested ads, scaled up Facebook spending with a winning message, and helped push the candidate over the top. The campaign invested 51% of its final ad budget on Facebook. The win also put paid to the Facebook-can’t help-in-local-elections myth. Sam Tift of CandK noted that early use of traditional campaign media put the candidate in contention.
