We are looking at BIONIC Media Software (https://www.bionic-ads.com/). It seems like a potentially valuable tool.

Has anyone had any experience with this software? We would love to hear from you...

Hey Mark -

We have been using Bionic for over three years now. Before Bionic we used Filemaker and excel spreadsheets to create our Insertion Orders, Broadcast Orders, Traffic, Media changes and Media Acquisitions. However, Filemaker became outdated and was unable to be updated. Spreadsheets worked for a while but our filing system on our server became messy and creating spreadsheets were time consuming.

We chose Bionic because it not only was more affordable than companies like Strata, but that it was an online/HTML system, it had a comprehensive dashboard, and it had campaign/ media plan features.

Bionic was relatively new when we started, so there were definitely some features that needed to be cleaned up and it was a little buggy. Also, their team was small so customer support was not sufficient for the workflow. However, over the past year and half they have made some major improvements to their software and support team.

I would recommend them for your media software, however you will need to get your department leads to champion such a software and have them involved early to ensure that a core group of individuals know the software. It took us about a year to fully integrate the system, however I think that would take far less time now because Bionic's support team is much more robust and they can help you set up custom dashboards and workflows that your core department leads need for their teams.

I recommend setting up a meeting with Bionic to demo their product. Again, pick a core team to be involved from the onset so that you can determine if Bionic is worth it or not.
